Alternative House Dinnners

Posted in Young Adults, by Jenn Potts

Every second Sunday of the month, Compass ministry goes to the Alternative House to prepare dinner for 6-10 homeless and/or abused children.  This has been such a great experience for me personally to go and see that there are places out there where these kids can go and just be themselves in a safe environment.  February will be the 3rd month we will be going and I encourage anyone that would like to volunteer to come and help prepare a meal.  If you would like to donate to this awesome cause, food items are also appreciated.  In December we made yummy pasta, salad and garlic bread and in January we made chicken and rice casserole.  The kids love it when we come and cook for them because it is a special treat to have something home cooked.  If you have any questions about the organization please visit their website at http://www.thealternativehouse.org or email Jen at compasscumc@gmail.com.
