Helping our Neighbors “When I was hungry you feed me”

Posted in Youth, by Adam Hansford

A great team from CUMC volunteered at Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) on South Nelson Street on Sat. Feb. 7. AFAC provides supplemental food to Arlington residents. Due to increased need, the number of families and individuals seeking food has almost doubled from last year.

Clarendon members and friends served 150 families in 2 hours. AFAC distributes food 8 times per week. CUMC also houses a weekly Saturday morning distribution for clients in North Arlington and our UMW and others provide annual financial support. In addition to adult team members, some younger members of our church helped: Gabrielle Hansford, Daniel and Zoe Swinson, Stephanie Smith, Peter and Rebecca Stewart, and Mark Schiller. In December Austin Bannach volunteered. All are invited to come help on any of Comic’s dates - April 4, June 6, Aug. 1, Oct. 3, and Dec. 5. Food may be donated for AFAC in the Social Hall of CUMC 606 N. Irving street Arlington VA 22201

Generations serving together is very gratifying, come out and be apart of what God is doing.
